Global plan: what it means for a travel eSIM

One plan that works in many countries across several regions.

A global plan puts dozens or hundreds of countries on one eSIM profile. You buy once and the eSIM attaches to a partner network in each country you enter, so there is no new plan at every border.

The price of that convenience is a higher cost per GB than a regional or local plan. Coverage lists also differ: some providers count countries, others count destinations or networks.

What to check

  • Check every country and layover on your route against the list
  • Compare price per GB, not the headline price
  • A trip inside one region is often cheaper on a regional plan
